| As another year has come and gone, I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very healthy, happy and safe new year to you all.
Mike South's long waited 'Southern Charms' should be on the shelves by now. It's already made quite the splash, making the front and back covers of this month's 'Amateur Porn.' This first release for LBO could be the first of many for the highly successful pro-am pornster.
Stephanie Swift, who left last year's CES loaded down with a ton of AVN awards, including the coveted Performer of the Year, has spent all of 1998 as the most sought after free agent. At long last, the petite starlet has settled on a new home. Starting in 1999, Ms. Swift will join the team at Wicked Pictures. With Swift joining Serenity, Missy and Jenna Jameson, the prospects look pretty hot for the Wicked family.
After nearly a year of expanding their roster, the Extreme team may be losing a few players. Rumors abound that a disagreement between Rob Black and Stryc9 has led to the firing of the busty young starlet. No word on where she may end up, but rest assured, someone will snatch up the pint sized porn slutlet.
In addition to losing Stryc9, there is a good chance another of the Extreme contract girls (Who is one of the favorites to win Best New Starlet at the AVN awards) has made her last movie for Extreme. In fact, this unnamed starlet may be hanging up her spiked heels for good. More on that as it develops.
Another story from the Extreme camp has Ashlyn Gere recovering from a fall on the set of her comeback movie. The injury has pushed back the release of the Rob Black film "Rubber", making it the most anticipated release for early 1999. She apparently plans to finish the film anyway. What a trooper.
It's official, Elegant Angel contract girl Roxanne Hall has left the jizz biz for good. After over 300 videos, Ms. Hall is said to be quite happy in her post-porn life. Although no one could fill the pumps of the hot British hosebeast, Melanie Stone has been inked by the company as their newest contract girl.
For the most disturbing news this month, we need look no further than the internet. Long time web journalist and often thorn in the side of porn big wigs, Luke Ford has met with some serious people bent on silencing him at any cost. His web site often dished dirt on people who are used to having their asses kissed by the porn press, was hacked and shut down.
Speculation is running wild about who might have taken the time to go in and hack his server, but to date, no one seems sure who did it. The list of suspects and possible scenarios could rival the Kennedy assassination but the smart money seems to point to either a big industry magazine or a mainstream figure recently at the center of one of Luke's hard hitting interviews.
Either way, the attempts to silence Mr. Ford have failed. His site is back up and even some of his harshest critics have come to his defense in light of this criminal action to silence him. Free Speech indeed. Rumors of a possible Oliver Stone film version of the incident may be premature, but I hear Leonardo DeCapirio is dying to play Mr. Ford.
Last month the web fans crowned Jessica Darlin as the top newcomer for 1998. She narrowly defeated Tushy Girl Alisha Klass by less than ten votes to capture the title. Congratulations to her and to the ten finalists currently in the running for the title of female star of the year. Oddly enough, at least one name in the top ten, Heaven Leigh, was completely overlooked by AVN for their award.
We'll have to see how close the fan selections match up with the AVN winners, rumored to be Alisha Klass for newcomer and Jill Kelly for top performer. (Klass finished second for newcomer, but Kelly failed to make the top ten with the fans, begging plenty of questions about the selection process.)
In the wake of my interview with Stryc9, I had a busy month, doing sit downs with some of porn's most lovely ladies.

I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down this month with legendary adult performer Tina Tyler. Never short of honest, hard hitting answers, Tina had plenty to say in our interview about adult films, breast implants, interracial sex and a whole bunch of other interesting topics. Don't miss it.
I also had a phone conversation with British pornstar Kiss. After a few years off, the busty blonde is back, this time behind the camera, directing in her own line of couple's oriented porn on the Vidkisco label. She is understandably proud of the newest release "Boomerang" which boasts some serious credentials as a big budget porn film.
Thanks to Tom Byron, I also got to interview Tiffany Mynx this month and Asswoman had a lot to say about her move from Elegant to Extreme, her career as a director and even her recently enlarged breasts.
Serenity's monthly newsletter was packed with sexy shots from her recent trip to the islands. In addition, she speaks very highly of her latest project, Double Feature". The sex comedy is due on your shelves in mid-January 1999. (Now if we can just get her to green light the scripts I've got for her this year.)
