Breakin' Out Movie

Breakin' Out Description: "Nicolas is an intelligent young man with a life full of happiness and hope. His parents, Thierry and Laetitia, are a vital, attractive couple who love him very much. But they have been playing a dangerous game, trafficking drugs behind Nicolas' back. On Thierry's birthday, the couple is pursued in their car by a cop who clocks them for speeding. In a panic, Laetitia discards a stash of drugs. But she can't avert disaster: the evidence is apprehended, and Thierry, losing control of their car, collides with a truck. Laetitia survives the accident, but Thierry is killed. On the day of his father's funeral, Nicolas' loss of his happy home is punctuated by the further tragedy and indignity of seeing his mother taken to prison in shame.

"Showing compassion for his case, Child Services places Nicolas with a stable and loving foster family, headed by Bernard and Elaine Delmas. The couple does their best to make Nicolas feel safe and welcome, but it's clear that he's in torment over his loss and his mother's impending trial. The Delmas' pretty but snooty daughter, Elodie, is less welcoming to the young interloper, reminding him he's just passing through. Her popular boyfriend Merignac additionally taunts Nicolas over his mother's abject condition. Still, Nicolas finds a new friend in “Tanker,” a boy his age whose father is housed in the same jail as Laetitia. Tanker counsels Nicolas on legal processes and Laetitia's grim prospects. Knowing he is the man of the family, and unwilling to wait for due process to take its course, Nicolas hatches a bizarre plot to free his mother."
