Starring: Michael J. Cox plays the hard boiled detective in this crime caper. He's approximating a Jack Nicholson imitation, and he does it quite well. He hints at it just enough to let us know what he's doing, but he doesn't go too far or over the top with it (like Christian Slater does in his early films) and annoy the viewer.

C'mon, it's Chinatown. A porn remake, but not a spoof or satire. This film really tries to redo porn-style an AFI top ten classic, and gets suprisingly good results. They steal the best lines from Chinatown, and do a nice job with the noir smoke, the ceiling fans, time-laspe photography and a jazzy musical score. Though, it would have looked even better shot on film, instead of video.

Even with the cinematic homage, it didn't forget the sex. The sex starts ok, but becomes blistering as the movie progresses, including three anal scenes by Julie Meadows, and a nice RC with Ryan Connor.

The story, this director knows to steal from the best, and he also does a good job of weaving sex into the classic story. You can tell the director (Francois Clouset) is a real movie nut, by his choice of noir camera angles, and the homage to Hitchcock's Suspicion gun scene.

Unfortunately, the director changed the ending of the movie. Chinatown has one of the great endings, because it's so bleak and moralless. Here, he takes on a happy ending which doesn't jive with the rest of the story. He should have gone for 100% remake, instead of this 80% remake. (Perhaps paraphrazing the scene from Chinatown, my sister. . . my lover, my sister. . . my lover, then ending with a threesome of Julie, Ryan, and Michael). Regrettably, Julie Meadows' formerly perfect, Missy-like body has been "enhanced" by melon-sized implants. Alas, another natural beauty lost to the ranks of stripperdom. In fact, every woman in the film looks like a stripper, a lot of silicone here.

A great couples film (every scene is b-g) with solid performances. Unlike most of today's porn, this video really tries to be something special, for that I give it an 8. A better ending, natural women, and film, this could have been one of the best. If you lvoe Julie Meadows's new body, then this is a must-have.

Starring: The front boxcover says it all: Julie Meadows is the erotic force of this video. As the perfect seductress, Julie give three scorching performances out of the video's seven scenes. Of course, the other performers are no slackers either. Tina Cheri begins the video with a breathtaking effort, especially in her anal scene. Sammie who bears a good resemblance to the AVN award winning starlet Missy, deserves a honorable mention in her performance with Evan Stone. The curvy Ryan Conners keeps up the heat in her encounter with Michael J. Cox. Another new actress, Cheyenne, (no, not Cheyenne Silver), make a good impression in her maid outfit during her tussle with Herschel Savage.

The wide diversity of sets aptly supported the cat and mouse type plot. Moreover, the camera and sound work was excellent: there were no unecessary technical distrations

VCA assembled a talented cast of performers. Julie Meadow's smouldering sensuality is an unbeatable winner in this video. Therefore, I would give an eroticism rating of 9.

This is not several sex scenes connected by meaningless, inane dialogue. Instead, it sports a decent plot, maintained by a few interesting twists all the way to the end. There was no reason to fast forward through the tape. Plus, the sex was consistently hot.

Actually, there really wasn't anything that I disliked about it.

L. A. Unforgiven is an entertaining story that delivers a reliable dose of heated carnality. Accordingly, this award deserving work merits a rating of 9 out of 10.
